Ada Lovelace lived from 1815-1852. Mrs. Lovelace is concidered the first woman computer programer. Even though there was no computers! Ada loved mathematics and machanical things. When Ada was seventeen she studied algebra and astronomy, which she tought herself. During her "coming out" season in London, she was looking for someone to share her love for mathematics, music, and anything interesting and new. Most of all she wished to meet the famous Mary Somerville. Mary Somerville lived in London at this time, and had just published The Machanism of the Heavens on the mathematical astronomy. Finally, Ada was able to meet her heroine Mary Somerville. The older woman became very fond of Ada. Ada was invited to come to concerts and plays and even to stay over nights with the Somerville's. At this time Ada was a lively young woman who looked like her handsome father. She fell in love with Lord King. Lord King was eleven years older than her. they became engaged to be married. The two were quickly married,Ada was nineteen and her husband thirty. Their first child, Byron, was born a year later. The following year a girl Annabelle, was born, and soon after that a son, Ralph. From then on,Ada's health was quite bad.The symptoms of the mystifying illness that she had as a young girl had showed up once more. The symptoms were beyond doctors knowledge. She had digestive troubles and developed kidney disease,as well as heart trouble. Three years after their marrige, Lord King inherited another title.Ada predicted computer music a whole century before it really happened!!! Ada the promising musician, wrote in her paper on the analytical Engine, suggsted that the computer might be used to compose music. Because she was not well enough to work on music or mathematcs. Dhe wrote to Woronzow: "There is in my nevous system such a want of all ballast and steadiness. Iam just the person to drop off some day when nobody ecpects it. Do not fancy me ill. Iam apparently very well at present. But there are seeds of distruction within me. This I know." Ada swung between feelings of doom and exuberant joy and optimisum. Bad luck seemed to attract more bad luck and Ada's illnesses returned with new force.she began to bleed internally. It was found that ada had cancer! Ada was crushed though she did not give up hope. She was like this for nearly four months.finally two weeks before her 37th birthday she died. Ada is now called the inventor of computer programming, now a century later we love her contribution. And computer programming.
