1. How do you feel about math?
Love it. I like the way everything fits together in a tidy solution.
2. What kind of job would you be interested in when you are older?
Probably some kind of web design job.
3. How do you use technology at school?
I use computers every day - to check my e-mail, write papers, do
research on the web, make artwork in PhotoShop, design web pages.
Several of my professors post class notes and announcements on the web.
4. How do you use math at school?
I use inductive logic as a computer programmer - we do a lot of
mathematical proofs. Also - simple everyday things like basic
arithmetic come in handy. I do lots of conversion from decimal to
hexadecimal (base 16) when designing web pages because colors are
defined online in hexadecimal values.
5. What kind of math?
Basic arithmetic, logic, occasionally statistics and probability.
6. What kinds of hobbies/interests do you have?
Art - especially modern visual design pieces. Music - I play the piano
and guitar, sing, and listen to tons of types of music (from Chopin to
Dave Matthews Band). I also do crafty things like bookbinding and
boxmaking.
7. What kinds of things do you like to do?
I like to go to movies, go dancing (especially when I know the people in
the band), go to performances at the Hult Center, and in the summer,
camping and hiking.
